Chalcedony has a waxy lustre, and may be semitransparent or translucent. Its chemical formula is also SiO2, same as quartz. But quartz has a triangular crystal structure, whiles chalcedony is monoclinic. Chalcedony has many varied colors. A clear red chalcedony is known as carnelian. Chalcedony with concentric banding is known as agate. It has been believed that Chalcedony is representation of moon and has very tight relation with water; therefore, Chalcedony may prevent one from sink into water, water related tragic accidents, or evil attrack.
